Getting to know you is the most important part (and my personal favorite) of the entire experience. I want to tell your story through images that can serve as heirlooms and time capsules of cherished memories for generations to come, not just take pretty pictures. After your non-refundable deposit is paid, we will begin the planning to put together a session experience that showcases who you truly are.
Between booking your photography session and heading out for pictures, you'll go through a top-notch behind-the-scenes experience. Based on your questionnaire, we will decide upon a location for the shoot, and I will help style your outfits. If you have a location request, please put it in the session questionnaire. Every session receives a style guide, access to the client closet at no additional charge, the option to be completely styled by me, a prep guide, and more.
Not sure what a client closet is? Check it out HERE!
My goal is not to capture staged poses but real, raw emotions that remind us of the power and beauty in the everyday importance of the life we live. While I will start sessions with a photo of everyone looking at the camera, eye contact is not what I focus on. I focus on movement, emotions, and true connection. This is a time for kids to be kids and pups to be pups - let them run and play. The greatest moments are the ones we least expect.
many Outdoor sessions take place during golden hour. Studio sessions take place mid-morning to early afternoon. Specific lighting is very important for my editing style.
You will receive a sneak peek of your photos 2-3 days after your session, and your full gallery will be delivered within 30 days. Photos are delivered in digital format via email in a password protected gallery and remain open for 30 days in order to share and download photos. An online print store is attached to each gallery for your convenience (with a promo code!!), or you can order from your favorite print shop.
There is nothing I love more than delivering your galleries and hearing your reactions! After your photos are delivered, show them off and tag me on social media!
Outdoor sessions occur April through early October. Studio sessions happen year-round. Booking for sessions Typically opens in February to the email list for the year and remains open until filled.
Fill out my contact form and I'll be in touch with an in-depth look at packages and pricing via email as soon as possible.

Our old farm house where we all come together as family from across multiple states is a time capsule sprinkled with photos on the cracking lath and plaster walls. The dust and warm light has faded the photos over time. I never got to meet most of the people in the photos, but I can feel their stories, read their emotion, and grasp that the figures in the images are human beings who loved, cared, cried, worked, and laughed. Some of the pictures on the walls aren’t even family. They’re friends, pets, the land my family has spent working for decades after my great grandparents built a sod house - the same house where my grandpa was born on the kitchen table.
Photography isn’t about me. I’ve begun to live by the motto “If you want a miserable life, think it’s all about you.” Photography allows me to live a life pouring into others which, in turn, makes my cup overflow. It’s about the mother who is grieving over losing a child, the senior who is scared to leave home for the first time, the dog who has been a loyal companion for 15 years and whose light is running out, the couple who finally found love despite adversity, the child’s fingers and toes that will never be that small again. I KNOW that life is fleeting. I’ve seen and experienced that raw truth through so many unexpected hurdles in life.
Photography is about truly getting to know and value other people who we share this earth with and the hurdles they have crossed too. It’s about connection - not only between the people in the photos but between all of us involved with the creation process. I want every person I have the opportunity to photograph to have images that tell their story so that long after they are gone, a family member, or complete stranger, can walk into that “farmhouse” in their life and know their story.
